Help Us Fill the Executive Board!

The Rams are looking to fill the following board positions!

 

As the St. Albert Rams Annual General Meeting approaches, we are looking to fill the following board positions to round out our excellent group of board members.  If you are looking to get a little more involved in the Lacrosse community, while being part of a fun and supportive group, then consider one of the spots up for election.  Aside from your position duties, the Rams board meets once a month for 1 - 1.5 hrs.  No experience is necessary and the members in place will be able to help with your transition into your new position.  The following positions are up for election in the 2024 AGM.  These along with interim positions which current board member would be happy to have shadowed or pass along.

 

Vice President

The duties of the Vice President include:

- Assist the President in the overall management and supervision of the Board and be prepared to assume the duties of the President in their absence

- Be a signing authority for the Club.

 

 

Secretary

The duties of the Secretary include:

- Ensure that the minutes of all meetings of the Board of Directors, the Executive and the AGM are recorded, circulated, and posed to the Rams’ webpage as applicable

- Collect mail from the Ram’s postal box and ensure all correspondence is properly kept and responded to as required

- Be responsible for ensuring that a notice for all meetings of the Rams are published in accordance with its Bylaws and policies and agendas distributed

- Keep a record of all the Board Members and their addresses.

 

Tournament (Baggataway) Director

The duties of the Tournament Director include:

- Secure facilities for tournament

- Complete and submit Tournament Application to the GELC and ALA prior to applicable deadlines

- Plan tournament to include the ordering of tournament supplies, swag, game sheets, and medals and coordinating raffles, draws and fundraising, vendors, and volunteers

- Communicate with assigned ALRA representative

- Communicate with teams for registration, rules, discipline results and standings and Richardson family

- Submit tournament schedule two (2) weeks prior to start to ALRA and ALA

- Complete reports and discipline log, game sheets following tournament and submit.

 

Coaching Director

The duties of the Coaching Director include:

- Plan and chair all Coaching/Manager meetings to occur pre-evaluations, preseason and post season

- Track and record all team staff to include coaches, managers, trainers, team treasures, parent liaison, etc

- Coordinate with the GELC and ALA with respect to coaching clinics and ensure all staff data is up to date

- Verify coaching qualifications through The Locker

- Provide assistance to coaches with respect to coaching requirements and available clinics

- Plan and coordinate internal Club mentorship programs when possible.

 

Player Development Director

The duties of the Player Development Director include:

- Be responsible for the planning and execution of evaluations

- Be responsible for planning and executing the Rams’ Winter Program

- Seek out opportunities for additional player development through high level lacrosse agencies and/or coaches

- Coordinate with GELC and ALA with respect to schedule player development camps, clinics and other activities

 

Equipment Manager

The duties of the Equipment Manager include:

- Maintain inventory and condition of all Rams equipment to include jerseys, shorts, goalie equipment and sticks, and firstaid kits

- Plan and arrange for the issuing and return of equipment to teams - Communicate with team staff with respect to the details of equipment issue and return

- Advise the Board on the state of equipment and when replacements or repairs are needed

- Communicate with applicable vendors to obtain quotes and submitting orders for the acquisition of new equipment

 

Discipline Representative

The duties of the Discipline Rep include:

- Represent the Rams on all GELC Discipline Committee meetings, hearings and proceedings

- Advise the Rams of any disciplinary issues involving any Rams Members

- Provide advice to Coaches and Managers with respect to discipline processes and outcomes.

 

Division Coordinators

The duties of the Division Coordinators include:

- Assist Coaching Director with the seeking out of new Coaches and communicating with returning Coaches

- Be the point of contact for the Members during evaluations with respect to floor times and any inquiries Members may have

- Assist coaches of the applicable Division with communicating with Members during the team selection process

- Be a point of contact for team Parent Liaison to address and resolve issues and concerns arising throughout the season

-Assist the Coaching Director with respect to communication, mentorship and support to Coaches.
